Desiccated coconut

Pakistan is the world's second-largest importer of desiccated coconut. This lane already exists — it is just not being run well.

Pakistan imported US$5.4 million of desiccated coconut in 2024: about 35% each from Sri Lanka and Malaysia, and 17.5% from Indonesia. Indonesia is the world's second-largest exporter, after the Philippines.

Desiccated coconut is graded by cut and by fat content. Food-safety documentation and microbiological specification are where shipments get held, not the product itself.

Price logic

Fat content and cut set the grade. Indonesian raw coconut prices have risen sharply on the back of strong export demand for whole coconuts and domestic processing demand, so 2026 pricing is structurally higher than 2023–24 and unlikely to reverse soon. Book earlier than you used to.
