Price logic
We do not publish prices. Here is what moves the number, and when.
- Robusta follows the London ICE contract; arabica follows New York. Indonesian FOB trades at a differential to whichever applies.
- Origin and process on arabica move the price far more than volume does. A Gayo wet-hulled lot is not a commodity.
- Pepper density is the whole trade. 550 g/l and 500 g/l are different prices for what looks like the same bag.
- Harvest timing differs by island. Sulawesi, Sumatra and Java do not peak together, and neither do their prices.
