Coir fibre goes into mattress filling, rope, brushes, upholstery and, bonded with latex, into rubberised coir sheet. Indonesian supply is abundant and the quality question is consistency rather than availability: fibre length, impurity content and moisture vary considerably between processors.

Fibre length and dust content set the grade. Moisture is the quiet cost — you pay freight on water. Specify maximum moisture on the contract and inspect for it at load port, because it is not visible in a photograph.
