Pre-shipment inspection
Someone from our office stands where the container is being loaded, checks what goes in, and photographs it.
Sold on its own. This is the cheapest insurance available on this corridor, and it is the step most buyers skip on their first shipment and never skip again.
What we check
- Quantity. Counted or weighed against the packing list, not taken from it.
- Quality against the approved sample. We hold the sealed sample you approved and compare against it, not against a description.
- Packing and marking. Correct bags, correct liners, correct shipping marks, correct labels for the destination.
- Container condition. Clean, dry, no odour, no prior cargo residue. On reefer, that the unit is running and set to the right temperature before loading starts.
- Seal number. Recorded and photographed, and matched against the bill of lading afterwards.
What you get
A report on the same day, with photographs carrying date and place. If something is wrong, you hear it before the container is sealed, which is the only point at which it is cheap to fix.
